Thats so great! You're making my clock tick haha! My OBGYN allows me to insert the probe myself whenever they do those kinds of ultrasounds. I have PCOS so I have had to have A LOT of crazy procedures and ultrasounds and they let me do some of it myself so that I'm more comfortable. Maybe, explain that you're not comfortable with certain aspects of the procedure and ask if there is some way to get around it?
