Hi Berries,
I'm wondering - did you actually have a CAT Scan that showed up some abnormality or are they presuming this is what's wrong. For example experts now know that people like Charles Manson (please know I'm not comparing him to you LOL) actually have a defect which they can see on the cat scan.
The good news is, the brain is an AMAZING organ. it's widely known that we don't even use all of our brains capacity. When people suffer strokes or brain damage - the brain can actually make NEW connections and relearn what was lost.
It's good for the doctors to try to explain why you're feeling this way - but there's also a down side as well because it can make the patient feel like they have no control - like you're feeling. Please let me know if this is just a presumption or if they actually saw this on cat scan - I'm very interested to understand.
Human beings are amazing in their ability to overcome great odds. Don't let this discourage you because, as we speak the brain is making new connections. One of the best way to make new connections is playing brain games and also vigorous exercise. I don't want this new theory the doctors have, make you feel discouraged about the future.
