I would pose the same question back to you -- why wouldn't I interact with the community?? I think that would be a little odd, like going to a party at someone's house and the host stays upstairs the entire time.

I wouldn't play host to a community if I didn't want to interact with it... I suspect most people feel the same way. I don't know of an online support community hosted by an organization or professional where they don't interact with it (but would be happy to hear of any such examples!).
