I had horrible side effects (akathisia, tremor, tardive dyskinesia ) on Geodon. I was prescribed it for an alternate treatment for PTSD. The involuntary movement symptoms slowly appeared within 5 months and just overwhelmed me. I was switched to Seroquel and the akathisia and tremor remained. These symptoms can become permanent in patients. The most irritating part of the experience was hearing doctors tell me I have no choice but remain on these type of drugs. For me, antipsychotics were more a harm than benefit. But as my counselor says "to each his own."
