Hello & Welcome, SheilaJane! I'm currently taking Citalopram along with other meds. I tolerate it well but whatever positive effects it has on me are minor. Psychotropic medications tend to be very individual in their primary and side effects; what works for one person may be intolerable for another.
You might call your prescribing doctor and tell them exactly what you're experiencing. They may encourage you to continue or, depending on their knowledge of you and the severity of the side effects, may decide to cease the Citalopram gradually or all at once, possibly substituting something else (I'm assuming you're new to meds; if not - you know the drill already). The important thing is to work with your doctor and be honest about what you're experiencing.
The doctor works for you - it's not your job to please them with misleading reports of progress.
Wishing you comfortable improvement!
