I've suffered with GAD for over 8 yrs now.

The meds I've been on throughout the years (not in any particular order) are:

Ativan- short time, didn't do well on it
Klonopin- Short time
Zoloft- 8 years
Remeron- 8 months
Celexa- 8 weeks roughly

and currently on Effexor XR, and it is doing wonders for my GAD.

I found for me personally that anti-depressants worked the best, I also suffer from depression as well.

All meds will work differently for people, it's best to consult with your doctor....
