I agree it is funny. Let me help you understand her response though - usually when you find out from a family member that someone died - you're not expecting to hear it, coupled with a joke. So she's left perplexed not knowing whether to laugh or say I'm so sorry for your loss - so instead she probably looked stunned/confused. But I do admit, it was a very funny comeback!!
