You could just be up front and ask him why you're on the medication. There are other indications for Seroquel other than psychosis and sleep. I was on it initially for being in a depressed phase but I was having too much sedation from it so I had to come off it. Now I take a really, really small dose for sleep. Maybe you were psychotic at some point - or not even fully psychotic but maybe you had psychotic features - in which case being on the med would make sense. Sometimes in that case you need a large dose of Serouqel at first but then for maintenance you can drop back on the dose to a more reasonable level. Otherwise if you're not willing to take it, then just tell the pdoc that you can't tolerate it any more and would like to try something different. Be honest and tell him it's a really high dose and you're having weight gain and it's not worth it to you since you're not even sure why your're taking it in the first place. Good luck talking to the pdoc!
