Yeah, want-to-b-fair, I call them copycats!

While people so often say that it's a form of flattery, the truth is that it's darn annoying! Especially when they're doing it on so many facets of your life!
My mother (of all people...) does this, and it has ruined several things for me, in that I can no longer think on the thing without the association. Not sure if it is on purpose, to ruin something (not out of the question) or if she geniunely thinks it is some way to bond. As a result, I hold back things I don't want ruined. Conversation is, well, limited.

(So, it really doesn't work for bonding, does it?!) I don't know if that is the best approach, but it does help me set a boundary. (Well, that, and 3000 miles helps too.)
