I agreed to move all the way to Arizona and marry my husband because I have bad knees and couldn't negotiate the ice and snow in Kansas in winter. (He was also a pretty good guy.) After moving here, I had one knee replaced. The other knee has no ACL ligament. However, it is ironic that we live in a house with two sets of stairs, one of which has to be negotiated to even get into the house. Last year, I fell down the other flight of stairs and broke my left leg into four pieces. I now have titanium rods from my hip to my artificial knee and have an even harder time negotiating the stairs in this house which my husband refuses to move out of because of the beautiful view of the mountains.
