biscuit tin, it may be that the effexor helped you to have the energy or focus to get a job so it may not all be a loss. having said that i have just come off effexor xr after having been on it for 7 years. it's been hell getting off this drug and just when i thought i was mostly over the withdrawal effects i am not. if you have to go off it then please do it carefully as you can get quite sick from it. personally, i don't think docs should be prescribing this drug for this reason. if you can get on an anti-depessant that doesn't have such severe withdrawal effects then i'd definitely change.

congrats on getting a job! hope it's something you enjoy.
