I don't have SAD, my depression is a year round thing. I have had lots of problems with insomnia. I bought a light two years ago and it made a huge difference in my sleep patterns. It took about three months of sitting every morning in front of the light for 30 minutes before my sleep patterns felt normal.

My current relapse into depression doesn't seem to be helped by the light.
