I think Seeker and Myzen have made god points. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our 'stinkin thinkin' that we need a diversion. In response to your question however, I don't have a "disease" - I had hypochondria along with Panic and Anxiety DISORDERS, but once I had proper therapy, got put on the right medication for me, they all went away. Sure, I can still have a different "pain" and revert to my "OMG - what is wrong with me?????????", then I can use my diaphragmatic breathing, distraction, and rational self talk and realize I am OK - it was just a "thought".
