Friday the 13th, I was out trail riding with my friend.....while driving to the farm, I had noticed that the dog at the home where we turn off to get to the riding area had a blanket or jacket or something but didn't stop to do anything about it....mentioned it to my friend....we laughed about not getting out to confront the dog.....on the way out, the jacket was still laying there....no dog.....so I got out of my truck, picked it up...drove a little farther & stopped to put the jacket on the windshield of their car under the windshield wiper.....doing my good deed for the day.....then I took off for my shortest way home....thinking I would get home in time to work more on my house before dark.

Drove down the road & turned down the next street....when I drove over the hill, there right in front of me was an accident....a pick up truck on it's side all smashed....a young boy with his cell phone was waking toward me.....I stopped my truck in the middle of the road & got out to see what I needed to do.....the one time I forgot to bring my cell phone with me....luckily they had several cell phones & I had the young boy call 911 before anything.....the girl was so hurt.....gave her a blanket out of my truck, the other boy that was still in the truck had a bad head injury....gave him my other blanket.

911 sent the vehichle enforcement, the sheriffs, & the fire department along with several ambulances......the one fireman that was there was the same fireman that came to both the accidents in front of my farm last year......they decided to air vac the boy with the bad head injury & the girl to the university hospital in the city.

The real irony is that if I hadn't stopped to take care of the jacket that the dog had drug up to the road, I would have been several minutes earlier......right at the spot of the accident when it happened & my truck would have been smashed & I would have been part of the accident rather than a helper.
