I like the way that you are approaching this - that this gives you a chance to practice when you go out!
For me, I had to figure out why I was reacting like that and work on each issue. The things that made me nervous and hyper were 1) my repressed feelings, 2) fear/embarrassment of being seen by others (all of my flaws and problems), 3) fear of being able to handle situations, stand up for myself, 4) fear of being triggered, 5) my low self worth, 6) my lack of social skills - to name a few.........
Are you doing any relaxation exercises? Didn't I describe one to you once? I also used to listen to headphones to tapes with subliminal messages of relaxation (for anxiety) on them too.
