Work on the issues that are causing them? (I know this is a long term plan and you need a short term plan too).
I know that ignoring something doesn't make it go away. How about acknowledging it and telling yourself that they are only thoughts and that you don't have to act on thoughts. Acceptance comes to my mind too, acceptance of the thoughts (that they are there, not that you have to act on them!) instead of fighting them. ?????????
