I can really relate to that. I started SI-ing when I had a mental breakdown when I was 12 or so... it was before I heard of a lot of people cutting themselves, so my parents' couldn't blame the "fad," or whatever. But my mom really freaked out, and took me to the doctor... and my DOCTOR, of all people, didn't take that (or my depression) seriously. But, if I had learned better ways to cope THEN, I wouldn't be in the mess I'm in NOW. If you feel like you need help, tell your parents or school counselor, or at the very least, a close friend/confidant that you're feeling depressed or anxious. Since you stopped cutting, don't start again to gain attention. The embarrassment and pain it brings is never worth it.
