No, I don't think it's morbid especially since you wanted to be a forensic psychologist. I think the more we understand this group of people, the earlier we can intervene and help them. It's an interesting topic. I saw a special on serial killers and they said some serial killers have had brain scans(did one on Charles Manson) that showed the section in the brain normally responsible for empathy is smaller. This is a scary thought because it leaves little hope for rehabilitation or remorse. I don't think it's morbid as long as you don't have thought yourself like you said. What about funeral directors or coroners - I don't think they're morbid.
