As any parent can probably attest (but would rather not), we've all been "caught" or "overheard" in the act of being grownups....i.e. bedroom. When questioned recently by our 8 year old about the giggling and noises she heard in the night, my hubby quickly answered..."We were just playing cops and robbers"
(I personally was too mortified to come up w/anything).......But I thought his answer was pretty good and it seemed to satisfy her curiosity...
Anyway, our pastors daughter was spending the night w/our daughter and as I was tucking her in "my precious one" whispered "Hey mom....no cops and robbers tonight ok?"....(of course not!!!!!, I assured her)...Then the pastors "precious angel" pipes in....
"At my house.....I think my daddy's the cop!!!"
At the reference to my pastor.....the hubby and I laughed so hard, we almost choked......Isn't it amazing that just when you feel the most embarrassed, kids have a way of pointing out how much commonality we share....
