Thunderbear.....You are not morbid at all. It takes a brave soul to want to study the sick pathology of psychopaths and sociopaths. Not everyone has that kind of bravery and for those that don't....it seems grotesque and crazy.
It's so cool to know that you have this desire/goal. Someone has to do it. Just to let you know...I too love to study about serial killers, and psychopaths. I too have thought seriously about studying Psychology and specializing in forensics and profiling.
I think what scares people the most about stuff like this is the fact that, in order to profile, you must be able to step outside the box and think like a psychopath...you must be able to view the world through their eyes and their histories. It is possible to do this and NOT be one at the same time...but I think that scares people about this field.
If this is a desire and talent that you have, go for it!! As with anything though....it's about moderation. In order to do this type of work and keep yourself healthy you have to have strong healthy coping skills, and you have to be able to let go of it all and allow yourself to be yourself...and not get locked in someone else's mind.
