Nope!! Not gonna either!!
People think me crazy because I am a Nurse and right now I'm working on the Respiratory/Cardiology Unit...we're getting a lot of rule outs for H1N1...but I do not hop on the vaccination band wagon.
I have an immune system and that's what it's for. I don't need someone shooting bits and pieces of dead H1N1 virus into my body....thank you.
By the way....a lot of people that we're seeing in the hospital and getting diagnosed with H1N1 are not necessarily H1N1. A lot of times the docs just call it that and treat it as that without doing the formal H1N1 testing because it doesn't really matter. People are getting treated the same. If you come in with the Flu...you're getting put in isolation...and they may do some swabs, or they may not. Regardless you're getting hydration and tamiflu and antibiotics to ward of the evil pneumonia.
Yes...it's reached pandemic stage...according to the CDC. And yes, if you are very young, very old, or have a fragile immune system, it is probably good for you to get vaccinated.
I think I will just let my immune system do it's job though. LOL!!! I didn't get the Small Pox vaccine either!!
