Im a cardiac nurse and I get palpitations too sometimes.

The hot bath will actually cause vasodilation, which means it will widen the diameter of the veins. Anytime your veins widen, this will cause a drop in blood pressure. This has to do with the sympathetic and para-sympathetic nervous system.

The palpitations could be caused by a decreased blood pressure indirectly. Anytime you decrease the blood pressure, the heart has to work harder to pump your blood to provide the body with oxygen. This increases the stress/workload on the heart which then causes the heart to demand more oxygen. And anytime the heart becomes more stressed for oxygen, the heart muscle can become irritable and one can experience premature contractions.

This is typically a benign thing, but depending on if you are having any other symptoms like dizziness or lightheadedness, chest pain, nausea, or trouble breathing with these palpitations, it could be a symptom of something more serious.

If you're not having any other symptoms, I say just roll with it and mention it to your Doc next time you see him/her. If you are having other symptoms I suggest getting an evaluation ASAP.

Of course if you ever experience chest/jaw/shoulder/neck pain and/or shortness of breath call 911 and have them take you to the ER.

Hope this helped....and feel free to ask any other questions.

thank you very much that makes sence to me why cant my dr's say things like that lol I think thay think I'm dumb lol or that I might freak out cause I have anxiety....

The only reason I ask is really because I had a heart murmer as a child that went away on its own but I get curious about if there could a conection some times....I have never had any test to make sure it is denign as you say....I've been happy to accept that its anxiety related but there always a thought when do I know to get help is there a point that my symptoms need to taken serious, not just get brushed off as anxiety couse one be due to some els that is not benign.

I have serious fatiuge latly and the palpitation have started back up I have not had any for I think at least a year, my mussels are always sore even if I dont do much, I'm healing really really slowly i normally heal prety fast, I get so hot but my body temp always say its low under the norm of what it use to be which I find really curious, I've had menstral issues for 2 years, recently was put on med to fix dizziness problem I was having cant remember right now what it was called its a really long and strange name, I have memory issues big time, never had all these symptom have been mentioned at different time and get all get brushed off at anxiety or not big deal, I have had thyroid, diabetes, pre menopause tests several time and all fine but I never get sent for more extensive test and I dont know if I sould insist on more extensive test to be more sure it is just anxiety ect.

In general I just feel I have too many symptom all at once I changed Dr's recently cause my main Dr left the practice I was using and the other Dr's at the practice kept brushing my symptoms off and some of the Dr started asking me I used other Dr's at other practice which I have never I used the same Dr for over 10y. I barly told him all my problems till I finally started getting better with my OCD, my OCD told me I wasting the Dr's time that he needed for other people that were sicker than me.

I just feel like enough is enough how sick or how many symptoms does a person need to get other test to be more sure its anxiety...My new Dr seems very great but I'm still scared to let her know everything just incase shes not as good as she seems it took me month to get us the courage to see a new Dr and then I was so scared when I had my first oppointment with her I dont want her to be like all the others, shes the first female dr I have let treat me.
