An old story just for you, Starrina:
"Joha" is a famous comedic figure in Arab folklore. He and his donkey have many silly adventures, but their silliness almost always displays some wisdom.
Once, on their way to town, Joha was riding his donkey while his son walked beside. People saw them and started whispering, "Such a heartless father letting his son walk!" So Joha switched places with his son, walking while his son rode.

Others then saw them and commented, "Such a disrespectful son who rides while his father walks!" Joha set his son off the donkey and they both walked.

They came across other people who mocked and laughed at them saying, "Stupid ones! They have a donkey and don't ride it?!" Joha mounted the beast along with his son and they both rode.

Soon others saw them riding; they angrily commented, "Heartless masters! They will break that poor donkey’s back!" At this Joha stopped, got off, gathered all his strength and picked up the donkey, carrying him on his own back.

Nearing town new people started talking, "What an idiot who carries his donkey!"

Joha calmly turned to his son and said, "Remember this, my son: no matter what you do, you can't please everyone."
