we do do recycling here in the uk each area like usa is differant, in our area we get plastic sacks purple for plastic containers and drink cans food cans, green for glas
and clear for paper products
were meant to flat pack cardboard and place in a cardboard box for them to collect but we found that they would fall apart anfd it would end up everywhere so we used a storage box to place card board in, we also have a recycling center were we can take garden waste some stuff from building projects general household rubish
and we get our recycling picked up once a week by a ceperate truck from the rubbish (garbage) truck our only problem here is the seagulls as they will attack the black sacks used for rubbish so we place a cloth over top to protect bags from those birds
not all househlods recycle but i belive it would be better if it was compulsery
