I feel for you. I get stuck in that train of thought in emotional times as well. No fun at all

What does work for me in those times is to do something completely unrelated to everything happening. Exercise works best for me ~ it puts me in a better state of mind and finally write a little about what's on my mind.
Even though it still isn't as descriptive as I'd like it to be, it does help me to finally list the emotions and causes. I do hope that you can obtain a little distance from the overwhelming feelings soon. We're here for you when you're ready.
