My 15 yr old dtr is borderline personality dis. Through this very rough yr, starting high school, changes, etc, we were refered to a program called "Family Preservation" which brought an in-home clinician. 1-2 hours for 3 weeks & our already turned upside down lifes were turned inside out-bad. This woman is very set in "her way of thinking" and it did not work out at all. I fired her. Now I'm being told we are completely cut off from all services, even the ones we origanally had for over 4 yrs. We are on medi-cal (california). When I fired the clinition, she should have told me this-I believe her ego is bruised & is taking this personally as is her supervisor. They tried to cancel an IEP with the school tomorrow....I told the school no, we have to do this for my dtr, its my rights, bla-bla. The IEP is now back on.
I can't believe these "professionals" who were only active with my family for 5 weeks and only 3 visits would go so far as to "forget" that there is a mentally ill child (teen) at the center of all this.
I know I cannot be refused treatment-its the place where we have gone for yrs.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent & any input would be great.
