When even Saints and King David suffered from some pretty major depressive episodes, I gotta start thinking that it's like any disease out there. Like the old civil warsong "Cannon ball don't pay no mind, if you're gentle or you're kind". You can plugg depression in there instead and it still would be true. You don't deserve it. It's not a punishment. Try not to make it into anything that it isn't already and you take half depression's power away from him.
