I am thinking about applying to SSI. I am tired to trying to find a job and not having very much luck. Past jobs I have had mental health issues and last job just didn't do too well.

Anyway, my dx is Schizoaffective Bipolar Type and OCD. On meds, most of my symptoms are gone except for emotional problems and social skills problems (OCD not being treated, but it's not really that bad). I don't know if I qualify for SSI. I already qualify for Vocational Rehab (considered disabled enough for that) and possibly state disability (I have started to file).

Without meds, I can't even think straight, totally psychotic, mood swings, sensory overload, panic attacks, etc... if the meds didn't work, I would be severely disabled.

I don't know if my doctors would support me. They see me as a smart and pretty normal person on meds.

I was just wondering if there were similar cases out there, and if they were successful in getting SSI.

I did get SSI (I think it was, it was from Social Security) when I was a kid for ADHD and severe emotional impairment. They cut it off when I turned 18.
