You likely will have to fill out a bunch of paperwork about your symptoms and health including things like whether anyone have diabetes or heart trouble. A history of the what you have been dealing with will be a priority. You will be asked if you are suicidal, or have made any attempts. There will be talk about what meds may be appropriate and the side effects. You will be informed it may be weeks before the medication starts to work. You may be given anxiety meds that are faster acting. If deemed advisable, you will be asked to start therapy.

Be open and honest. Ask questions so you are sure about how to take the meds and what is expected of you. Make sure you breathe. There have been times I broke down and cried. This is a big step and there will be some anxiety.
