First of all, it's awesome you're giving therapy another shot! You may have just not had the right T.
I, too, am always super-nervous before the first session. The first T visit is pretty much just the T asking questions and isn't as scary as it seems it will be (you probably know this).. just be as honest as you can about what's going on right now. Watch for the connection, too -- if you don't feel good about this person, then don't make another appointment with them! It's really important that the therapist is someone you can form a strong relationship with. You are allowed to shop for Ts!
You might ask the T if they've treated someone like you with success in the past.
You might also want to mention that you're unsure about this because therapy in the past has not been helpful. The T might ask what about it was not helpful, and may have some reassuring things to say.
Getting things clear in your mind about how therapy might help you and what exactly you want to work on is a good way to prepare for the first appointment.
