I used to do the same, Greenleaves! No ingrown hairs when I waxed...but always when I would pluck. Also, I've never been able to wax myself...boy, looking down at the wax and knowing the pain that is to come...uh uh... no way...can't do it.
But a good professional does it so quickly and cleanly that I hardly feel it (along with a Lortab, of course!  )
