I agree that patients should be given the information about ECT and the possible side effects of the treatment. I would hope though that no measures would be taken that might make ECT treatment difficult for patients to get. Several people I know as well as myself have found ECT to be a helpful and life saving treatment. We had no long-term problems as a result of the treatment.
