For starters, anything that is bothering you and that your stressed about is important and it doesn't matter what it looks like on paper. Stress is not something to be taken lightly and and right now your under a lot of stress.

Finding a roommate will be hard with the holiday's upon us, I'm actually trying to do the same thing and it is hard to find a roommie that will "fit". Have you tried your local Craigslist? I have had great results from using CL but, you do have to be a tad picky at times. It's just a thought if you haven't.

Can your BF retake his tests? Sometimes if you go and talk to the professors it is possible...or can he retake the class? Maybe his student advisor can offer him some suggestions on how to "fix" things so his degree isn't in jepordy? Most professors don't want to see their students fail, and if he is going to stay over the holiday's at school maybe, just maybe, they will work with him?

And as far as traveling by yourself, try to think of it as an adventure, I have traveled all over the states by myself, and while it can be boring sometimes, it can also give you time to reflect, plan, and get to know yourself. It also has a way of teaching us to enjoy our own company and if we can be happy with ourselves, we can be happy with others. Just make sure your car is ready for the trip. Check your oil, tire pressure, make sure you have a spare. All those things to keep you safe. Is boarding the kitties an option so he can go? Maybe another friend that is staying behind can keep an eye on them? Again, Craigslist can be useful in finding another student who needs some extra Christmas cash and is willing to come in a couple of times a day to feed and play abit. You could even put a posting up to request just that...it's not as exspensive as some believer, and maybe that could be your present to him? Can you take the kitties in a cat carrier and bring them with you?
