Thanks for the tips. If I give the blasted things up I will check some of the local clinics.

As far as flushing goes, there is more to it than just the waste of expensive meds. I met a environment chemist a while back who was telling me that our rivers are being subtlely and possibly dangerously polluted by flushed meds AND by the the meds and metabolites we excrete and flush. She said one of the most important ones is birth control pills. Apparently the pee contains enough that even after sewage treatment they are having a feminzing effect on wild fish stocks. She said this is a very new and hot topic of research and they don't yet have any idea what it all will mean.

I also just heard a chemist on the radio talking about cocaine metabolites in a city's river. It was very surprising what he derived from his calculations. The official data said that the city (in Italy) had about 15,000 cocaine users. When he crunched the numbers he found that there actually had to be at least 40,000 cocaine users to account for the residue in the sewage.
