((((((((redredblueblue)))))))I don't think they do the straitjacket business so much unless you are really trying to hurt yourself or someone else. I haven't been to the more acute end of the hospitalization process, but I think someone else here might be able to tell you more.
From what I understand, it is sometimes a necessary place to go to break the downward spiral and get someone the help they need. You might be able to get contact with a therapist or p-doc through the hospital if you don't have one already. I know that it feels really scarey, but it might be a really good thing, actually.
