Hello lightside90 and welcome to PC,

None of us are mental health professional here (some of us are but we don't give professional advice online) so what we write is based on our experience.

I've dealt with both major depression and bipolar depression for over 34 years. I've studied it for at least that long. The symptoms you describe, in my opinion, sound an awful like classic depression brought on by the basic worries you are experiencing right now.

Getting a thorough checkup by your regular doctor is a great idea but I always tell people that if your doctor thinks that you might have a touch of depression, it is always best to let a phychiatrist prescribe antidepressants for you. No offense to general practitioners but antidepressants along with all the special medications that are used for mental illnesses are very specialized medications and it takes someone who is used to prescribing them to do it right.

You can always get an appointment at your local mental health clinic or if your general practitioner (family doctor) knows a good psychiatrist, then have him recommend one.

This is just my opinion. I wish you luck in feeling better.
