It's strange, but learning my disorder has a name attached to it makes me feel more normal.
yeah. Ive been pulling my hair out for about 6 years now. I pull out everything that may possibly be harboring a root on the other side such as top of the head, eyebrow, leg hair, pubes, everything. I almost went bald before. I had 2 bald spots on the sides of my head that were pretty large. My hairline on the back of my head receeded about 2 inches, a large bald spot on top of the crown, and i oulled all of my bangs out. I thought i was a freak, but i couldnt control it. It wasnt till i was admitted to the psych ward in 8th grade (for other reasons) where they gave me the diagnosis of trichitillomania. I was so relieved that there were other people like me and that i was not alone in this.

Now instead of pulling my hair out all the time, i focus on split ends. It helps keep the hair on my head, and its also entertainment on the go! only... my hair is shorter on the right because i pull out more splits on that side.
