I think it'd depend on context. For instance, when my friend came out to me, I told her that her sexual orientation made no difference -- she was still the same friend I'd known for years, still the person I trust, care about and respect. It was something along the lines of "you're still you."

Not sure if that really helps. Just be honest and say whatever is in your heart.
