That does sound weird..... I have never heard of scented tampons! I think that is probably different for everyone. Just like adding fragrance to a soap doesn't hurt everyone but, for some people, can cause skin rashes or irritation. I probably wouldn't leave it in as long as normal for the first couple just to see if you can deal with them. But I think if you use one and you don't notice anything you are probably good. I don't think they could put anything in there that would flat out harm you. At least this was an emergency run and maybe you can get different ones tomorrow. If you still feel freaked out maybe just wash really well for a few days.
