Has your Doctor started you on an acid blocker?
This is of most importance. There are two different kinds, H2 inhibitors (Pepcid), or Proton Pump Inhibitors (Protonix, lansoprazole, omeprazole (prilosec)).
If it were me, I would request a PPI. You can get generic prilosec OTC, but if you have good insurance you could probably get it cheaper with a prescription. First and foremost...speak with you MD about it if they don't have you on one daily.
