I tried this technique one time. We didn't tap on my face, because I have a nerve disorder on my face which is painful (trigeminal neuralgia). But we tapped on my hands and wrists, I remember. I knew somebody who was a practitioner of this who also does therapeutic hypnosis. She thought it was a very helpful practice. For me, I did not experience a benefit from it, but I have a hunch it may be something like EMDR - that somehow it provides some distraction while you are processing things perhaps (not sure). If it was helpful for you, and you are able to try it again, I hope you can do so. The person I met said the goal is for people to learn to do it for themselves, independently, and use it wherever they are, which is a nice benefit if you find it helpful.
