If you try to tell yourself you are in a dream AND turn your dream into something you want it to be, it will help a lot! I can sometimes do that. Talk to yourself before you go to sleep and ask that you recognise a lucid dream and are able to control it. When we had one where somebody was chasing us, we turned around in the dream to face whoever it was and yelled at the top of our lungs for them to get away! It worked!
