Some insurance will not pay for personality disorder treatment because it isn't short-term treatment.

I think they just want to bill with a dx that will get your treatment paid. The treatment will be the treatment you need, but for billing purposes, the dx will be something the insurance company will honor and pay for. It's playing the system to get you the treatment you want.
