Gravitating to what is familiar is exactly why I missed my husband so much after this whole ordeal. I wanted the security of familiarity, even though I had so many barriers in place with him as well. Even with those limitations, I was still much more comfortable with him...as screwed up and dysfunctional as that sounds.
