I don't recommend scented tampons. Menstural blood acquires odor only after it has been exposed to the outside. So a scented tampon isn't necessary. I don't think it's actually harmful, but could cause a mild irritation, especially if you are allergic to the fragrance.

I've also discovered that the store brands aren't very good. I found myself very irritated once after a cheap applicator came apart, and I didn't know until later that one of the two cardboard tubes had stayed inside me. It wasn't comfortable at all. In addition, the cheaper tampons don't absorb as much, have to be changed more often, and by using more, we don't come out ahead on price anyway.

We get what we pay for. It's better to buy quality.
