What living things have in common:
1) Living things need energy
2) Living things grow and develop
3) Living things respond to their surroundings
4) Living things reproduce
We are not obliged to believe everything we are told. If we are to grow, develop and appropriately respond to our surroundings we must participate, not simply follow.
As Rene Descartes told us, "If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things."
