Any doomsday predictions you hear about 2012 are nonsense. Don't believe them. The Mayan Calendar is like an odometer; it needs to roll over. The next time this happens is in 2012.

None of the other things you hear about 2012 are real. All that stuff about galactic alignments (which happen all the time, by the way, most recently in the late 90's) or Nostradamus predictions (nothing but a few hit or miss guesses) is total nonsense.

Interestingly enough, I remember learning something in my Astronomy class last year about how the Mayan Calendar was translated wrong, and 2012 is not the actual year the calendar predicts.

Either way, it doesn't matter. Nothing is going to happen. Like everyone else said, remember Y2K? I was terrified. I really believed all that nonsense about the computers and the nuclear missiles going off. And what happened? Nothing. The lights didn't even flicker. For some reason, people love to predict the end of the world. Don't worry about it.
Thanks for this!
