Everytime I pack my husband his lunch I take one small bite out of the corner...the first time I did it he looked at me very strangly but i simply told him that was my "love bite" and when he sat down to eat he would see my "love bite" and know I am thinking about him....I know it's silly but maybe you can try something like that.
