As a very new people, I can say that chat can be a bit intimidating, especially when you are just trying to figure out how things work, and what the protocol is. Different chats on different sites all have their own acceptable behavior. I have cruised in just a couple of times to see what is going on, but have not said hello, for fear of being a newbie nuisance.
