OIC. Yes being ignored in chat gives ill feelings for sure!
And there doesn't seem to be any best way to prevent it.
I've tried to enter a chat room and wait a second to see what colors people are using...
and what the topic is (or are)...
and I've tried to have my color and bold font all ready before entering the chat room ...
and then saying hi to the room immediately...
and a few other ways I guess...
it just seems that it totally depends upon...
- whether someone is dominating the chat...
- someone or two are deeply into typing long responses at the time you enter and they don't see you...
- whether those not engaged in the chat are engaged in being there at all (or are off texting or watching tv, or on the phone!)...
- whether those who are in chat are feeling well enough to notice and acknowledge someone new coming in
and all the other things that cause human behavior!
